Research Brief 3: Topological Field Space

This workshop operated on both digital and analogue level. Over the last two weeks, we attempt to examine spatial and geometric construct through a topological set of ‘glasses’; exploring property of connectivity and directionality which is outside the language of Euclidian geometry. Through Rhino scripts, we generated variation starting with basic ‘species’; using simple operation like folding / weaving / field bundling / mobius, looking for point of singularity within each successive generation of computational parameters. Students created parametric machine which enable them to examine the topological similarity and differences.
